The Edith B. Siegrist will have two showings of the film,
Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, directed by Wayne Wang.
This film is based on the novel by Lisa See, Snow Flower and the Secret Fan,
the current selection for the Books in Context Series.

Dr. Reeves will present an engaging session on modern Gamelan notation, which is completely different than Western musical notation. She will share the fascinating way that the written symbols relate to the instruments in the Gamelan ensemble.

A guided tour of the current exhibition containing the work of five contemporary artists who explore the visual materiality of word-based texts. The artists used literature, the act of writing itself, or the library as inspiration for their visual art installations.
