Music is the theme this year as we present our 2018 Summer Reading Program! Planned activities will include weekly entertainers for subjects such as juggling, Legos, science, puppets, animals, magic, and of course music! There will be workshops on yoga and nutrition, Lego Robotics, VEX, art, chess, and even a Shakespeare Workshop with the USD Theatre Department. The library will also be partnering with the National Music Museum for the month of June! The Summer Reading Program is open to young people, preschool through young-adult, with programs, prize drawings, Storytime sessions, reading clubs, and more. Summer Reading kicks off Monday, June 4th!

LEGO Robotics Workshop (Thursdays, June 21st & 28th; July 12th & 19th. 10:00 – 11:00 am.)
Kids aged 8 and up will build LEGO robots with Lauren Hollenbeck.
National Music Museum Workshop (Wednesdays, June 6th – June 27th)
Get out of the heat and discover the cool instruments of rock and make your own instruments to take home. Led by Dr. Debbie and Pierre from the National Music Museum. This workshop is designed for children ages K-6th grade (2018/2019 school year). Sessions will take place either at the National Music Museum or the Vermillion Public Library Kozak Room.
SD Shakespeare Festival Workshop (Thursday, June 7th)
Ages 8-12 & Ages 13 – 18:

Tutoring (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, June 6th – July 26th. 8:30 – 9:30 am.)
The Vermillion Public Library is partnering with the Yankton Area Literacy Council for summer tutoring!
VEX IQ Workshop (Fri & Sat, June 15th & 16th; Fri & Sat, July 13th & 14th. 10:00 – 5:00 pm.)
Led by Susan Rolfes, kids will learn about engineering, building, and coding with our user-friendly kits! No experience necessary.
