Tax season is nearly upon us! To help you with your tax preparations, the IRS VITA program is returning to the Vermillion Public Library. Volunteers will be here at various dates and times throughout the months of February and March (and the first week in April) to help you with your tax filing needs.
We have new dates for the Film Discussion series here at the Library!
The Vermillion Public Library is closing at 1:00 pm today (January 22nd) due to the weather!
Today, January 22nd, the Vermillion Public Library is cancelling all programs that were scheduled. So far this morning we are open, but we don’t recommend you travel the roads if you don’t have to! Remember we do have a whole host of resources available online to our patrons.
Join us for a new and relaxing coloring activity!
We are combining our weekly coffee and tea delivery from The Bean with a selection of Adult coloring pages and colored pencils to be used in the quiet environment of the Library.
Starting Friday, January 19th.
8:30 am until about 10:30 am (or whenever the coffee runs out!).
This activity is meant just for adults, because we like to color too!
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is Monday, January 15th. While the schools will be closed to observe the birthday of this leader from the African-American civil rights movement, the Vermillion Public Library will be open to accommodate our patrons!
Activities are planned for children from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm in the Kozak Room.
Please review our Unattended Children Policy in regards to child supervision.
If you have any questions, please call 605-677-7060 or email our Youth Services Librarian, Beth at Beth.Samenus@vermillionpubliclibrary.org.
Cook the Book is returning to the Vermillion Public Library!
Do you love browsing through cookbooks or trying new recipes and cooking techniques? The Edith B. Siegrist Vermillion Public Library is pleased to resume our most popular book club – Cook the Book! On Mondays at noon, beginning on January 22nd and continuing through February 26th, 2018, our tastiest adult program will introduce fellow foodies to new tastes, cooking techniques, and great books about cooking.
This unique book group brings together patrons who love to cook for a shared meal and conversation about cooking. To participate, drop by the Library Circulation desk before January 22nd and pick up a book from our pre-selected assortment of cookbooks. Participants will choose recipes inspired by their chosen books to prepare and share for the first meeting. It will only be necessary to make one regular-sized recipe – no need for doubling! Subsequent meetings will be themed according to the group’s choices.
For more information, drop by the Library Circulation Desk, or call us at 605.677.7060.
Om Sweet Om presents Qigong!
Qigong is an integral aspect of traditional Chinese medicine, and typically involves moving meditation, coordinating slow flowing movement, deep rhythmic breathing, and calm meditative state of mind.
No experience necessary! Sessions will build upon one another; consistent attendance is encouraged but not required.
Classes will occur Sundays, starting January 21st, 2018 and going through February 11th. From 2:00 to 2:45 pm in the Kozak room.
The cost is free, but donations are accepted. Anything you can offer will be used to ensure well-being and mindfulness programs can continue in our community.
Hot tea will be provided, courtesy of The Bean.
