October 19th After School Movie

Secondhand Lions will be showing in the Kozak Room today at 3:30!

A shy adolescent boy, Walter (Haley Joel Osment), is taken by his greedy mother (Kyra Sedgwick) to spend the summer with his two hard-boiled great-uncles, Hub (Robert Duvall) and Garth (Michael Caine), who are rumored to possess a great fortune. At first, the two old men, both set in their ways, find Walter’s presence a nuisance, but they eventually warm up to the boy and regale him with tall tales from their past. In return, Walter helps reawaken their youthful spirit. (PG)


Star Wars Reads

October is Star Wars Reads month! Tweens and Teens are invited to join us here at the Vermillion Public Library to celebrate! We will be hosting a variety of activities, including a screening of Star Wars: A New Hope and making your own lightsaber!

October 12th After School Movie

Disney presents a Roald Dahl classic directed by Steven Spielberg. In an imaginative tale filled with magic, wonder and unexpected friendship, a young girl is launched on an enormous adventure when she crosses paths with a mysterious being called the Big Friendly Giant. (PG)

Samuel Miller

The Friends of the Vermillion Public Library are bringing best-selling author Samuel Miller to the Vermillion Public Library on October 18th, 2018 at 7:00 pm.

Sam Miller is a former Vermillion High School graduate, born and raised right here in Vermillion, South Dakota. He now resides in Los Angeles, where, in addition to writing, he directs music videos and coaches Little League Baseball. He began writing his first novel while on tour in a 15-passenger van with the rock band Paradise Fears. Currently he attends graduate school at the University of Southern California. He credits his existence entirely to two spectacular parents, three brothers, one sister, and the best and sweetest puppy dog on the whole planet, Addison.
