SDPB’s Science Guy Steven Rokusek will use humor and fascinating demonstrations to bring dry theorems and scientific laws to life. The demonstrations are entertaining for kids and adults. Approximately 15 demonstrations will be shown during the event, including physics, chemistry and anatomy demonstrations.

Join us for the first Entertainer of the SRP program when we welcome Jason Huneke, comedian and juggler, today at 1 pm in the Kozak Community Room.
The ‘Local Heros’ Kick-Off Party for the 2015 Summer Reading Program is here – Monday, June 1st, from 1 – 3 pm!
Local heroes such as Vermillion Police, Fire Department and EMTs will be on hand in the parking lot from 1-2 pm, and the party will commence inside from 2-3 pm. Superhero games, crafts, photo booth, snacks and more. While you’re here, you can pick up your program calendar and reading log.
The Summer Reading Program, which takes place during the months of June and July, includes things like costume creation, group games, physical challenges, LEGO robotics, creative projects, science and engineering challenges, and much, much more.
The 2015 Summer Reading Program, Every Hero Has a Story, is open to young people, preschool through young-adult, with programs, prize drawings, storytimes, reading clubs, and more. Families are invited to join the Read-to-Me program; adults are encouraged to register for the “Escape the Ordinary” adult reading program, with prize drawings available. The library will cap off National Library Week with the biggest bash saved for Saturday, April 18th!
The Children’s Art Show & Sale, a fundraiser for the Summer Reading Program, will be open from 10 – 4 pm.
The biggest excitement takes place from 2-3 pm, when we will honor special library volunteers during a Volunteer Appreciation reception, unveil a special new #librarylove promotion, screen the video of a fun and unexpected teen event, and end the afternoon with door prizes!
