Power 1/2 Hour – Stories, music & fun with Mackenzie; Wednesdays at 11:15 am (NO session this Wednesday, March 8th)
Parent-Tot Dance; Fridays at 10:30 am
And of course, our traditional Story Time sessions!
Movement Story Time; Tuesdays or Saturdays at 10:15 am
Art Story Time (ages 4 & up); Mondays at 5:30 pm, and Tuesdays and Saturdays at 11:15 am

Tech & Toddies, our newest adult program, returns this month on Friday, February 17th, from 7-9 pm.
This time around we’ll be having a grown-up play time with LEGOS and coloring pages – some of our favorite childhood activities;) The Library will provide some light refreshments (although you may BYOB), all needed supplies, and we’ve even got childcare!

Beginning this Wednesday, we have a new literacy program for some of our littlest patrons: Power Half Hour! Come check it out.
Did you know that we’ve added Monday to our after school program line-up? This Monday features Shannon Schaack, HyVee nutritionist, who will introduce kids to the exciting world of healthy eating (really, it’s so much fun and so tasty!).
2nd & 4th Mondays, 3:30-5 pm in the Kozak Community Room
Needless to say, snacks are included;)
Parent-Tot Dance returns each Friday at 10:30 am, in the Kozak Community Room. There is no cost for this program, and all are welcome.

The Vermillion Public Library will be OPEN this MLK Jr. Day, and we’ve got some activities planned!
Drop by between 10 & 1 in the morning for board games and pizza, or for a special film screening in the afternoon at 2.
In response to requests from patrons, the Library is excited to share a new program for adults in the New Year: Tech & Toddies!
Adults who love techie toys are invited to join in the fun for a new series of social hours on the 3rd Fridays of each month. Beginning January 20th, folks can be introduced to a variety of geeky gadgets including LEGO Robots, Snap & Squishy Circuits, Coding and more. Refreshments are provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own beverages. Adults 21 & up only, please.
The January session, which is scheduled for 7-9 pm, will focus on LEGO Mindstorm Ev3 Robotics. In 2 hours, participants will build their own robot and learn the basics of programming it. The facilitator will be Lauren Hollenbeck, 4-H Youth Program Advisor for Clay, Union, and Yankton counties, who regularly facilitates robotics session for youth at the VPL. All sessions will take place in the Kozak Community Room.

Siegrist Vermillion Public Library, in partnership with RBdigital from Recorded Books (Prince Frederick, MD), is pleased to announce the availability of two new electronic resources: Universal Class and OnePlay. Beginning January 1st, patrons will have free access to online continuing education courses and digital gaming through the library’s website, www.vermillionpubliclibrary.org/ebooks/.
Universal Class is a comprehensive service offering unlimited access to continuing education courses, covering a broad range of topics. Universal Class offers over 500 courses ranging from accounting and nutrition to reiki and gardening, many of which offer continuing education units (CEUs). Classes are self-paced and instructor-led, with certified instructors available to answer questions and assess your performance.
OnePlay offers a digital gaming service, where users can instantly download and play unlimited Android and PC games for free. OnePlay includes over 2,000 games from more than 75 different publishers.
1500+ PC titles, 500+ Android titles, plus no holds and no waiting. Patrons can download the games they want onto their computers, or other devices, and play them whenever and wherever – no internet required. Login can be used in the library, at home and on multiple devices. Parental controls are also available.
