There’s Still Time!

It may seem like the Summer Reading Program is winding down (where does the time go?), but that doesn’t mean there aren’t still a BUNCH of fun things to catch before it’s all over. And keep reading! We’ve got incentives to give out for each week, and you can check in at ANY time to collect your incentives… up until the end of the program, that is – which is Friday, July 28th.

Here are a couple of the fun programs coming. See the remaining program sessions listed on the SRP calendar at the bottom of the post.

Ready for the All-American Eclipse?

Are you excited about the coming eclipse? Are you prepared? Check out NASA’s great resources: https://eclipse2017.nasa.gov/

Here at the VPL, we’ve also got some workshops cooked up that will help you get the most out of this rare eclipse event! On Thursday, July 20th – as part of our SRP Workshop session – we will lead kids in the creation of a solar viewer. We will also distribute eclipse glasses to all participants. Then again on Saturday, August 12th at 1 pm, we will lead another solar viewer workshop that will be open to anyone in the community. We will have plenty of eclipse glasses to share, so please feel free to drop by and pick yourself up a pair:)
