A FAMILY STORY TIME
Thursday, May 16th 7 pm
Do you have fond memories of favorite books from childhood? We would love for you to share them! Bring a special book (or contact us and we’ll try to locate it for you), dress up as a favorite character if you like, and come to a very special event at the library! In celebration of Children’s Book Week, we are hosting a Family Story Time. It’s an evening of book sharing for people of all ages — be sure to bring the kids if you have some, but that is not a requirement!
On Thursday May 16th at 7 pm, we will gather in the Community Room to share a summary or short reading from our favorite children’s books. We are hoping to get readers from all generations. Kids, cousins, neighbors, moms, dads, grandpas and grandmas are all invited to share, or just come listen and reminisce.
There will also be special Story Times for toddlers and preschool kids that morning!
Toddler Story Time 10:30 am
Preschool Story Time 11:15 am
It’s here at the Vermillion Public Library! Let’s Move South Dakota is a traveling hands-on exhibit that will inspire children and families to get active, eat healthy and feel good.
Six interactive stations highlight the habits that can result in a healthy weight. Stop by and spend some time learning and interacting with the exhibit….it will be here in the Children’s area through Saturday, May 25th!
There are still two more programs scheduled to help us celebrate National Library Week here at the Vermillion Public Library. Today (Tuesday, April 16th) from 3:45 to 5:00, join us for a fun-filled program for Upper Elementary kids. “The Amazing Race” will feature a scavenger hunt race through the new library to earn craft supplies for a project. Snacks will be provided.
On Thursday, April 18th from 3:45 to 5:00, a program for Teens….“So You Think You Can Dance?” will feature library trivia combined with the latest dance moves!
The Vermillion Public Library will celebrate National Library Week with some special events planned for kids of all ages. Our theme, “It’s TV Game Show Week @ Your Library” will include programs for Early Elementary, Upper Elementary and Teens. Check out the Kids Special Events and Teen pages for specific information. Each event will run after school from 3:45 to 5:00!
If you haven’t been in to visit since we’ve reopened, we’ll look forward to showing you around. Bear with us as we continue to fine tune our shelving and services.
