It’s Not Too Late!

Wanna help yourself and your community at the same time?
In keeping with the season of giving, the Edith B. Siegrist Public Library is pleased to share its intention to offer amnesty to patrons owing fines throughout the month of December, in exchange for donations of food pantry items.
The “Forgiving for Giving” campaign will collect donations of non-perishable items that will then be distributed by the Vermillion Food Pantry during the holidays. Patrons who have accumulated overdue fees, with the exception of replacement fees, will be able to have those fines waived in exchange for donations of much-needed items, such as canned meats, canned or packaged soups, canned beans, dried pastas and grains, dried fruits, canned vegetables, etc. A more detailed list can be found by visiting vermillionfoodpantry.org/how-to-help/wish-list.

Post-Holiday Activities

Looking for something to do after Christmas? We’ve got 3 days of fun activities planned this week: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (12/27-29), join us for lunch and fun activities!
Big thanks to the Friends of the Vermillion Public Library for sponsoring lunch.

Retirement Reception for Jane Larson

*POSTPONED* Jane Larson’s Retirement reception has been postponed, due to inclement weather, until Friday, December 9th from 3-6 pm.

The Edith B. Siegrist Vermillion Public Library staff and Board of Trustees are very pleased to share a planned public reception honoring the retirement of long-time Library Director, Jane A. Larson, scheduled for Friday, November 18th from 3 – 6 pm. After a serious year-long illness, and continuing to recover at home in Meckling, Larson is looking forward to saying a proper goodbye to colleagues and patrons. Jane served the community as Director of the Library for 32 years. In that time, she steered the Library through enormous change and growth, including overseeing a major renovation and expansion of the Library, completed in 2013. Anne Dunham, Friends of the Vermillion Public Library long-time volunteer, is looking forward to thanking Larson. “Jane has been the face of the Library for over 30 years. She has been greatly missed.”
“We’re excited to have this opportunity to thank Jane for her years of dedicated service to the Vermillion Public Library, and for all she achieved while she was here. We encourage friends, acquaintances, and community-members to stop by and visit with Jane during her reception,” states incoming Library Director, Daniel Burniston.
The reception is free and open to the public, and will take place in the Kozak Community Room.
For more information, call the Library Circulation Desk at 677.7060.
