Join T. Wilson King and enjoy some great music – next Monday, July 18th at 1 pm.
King will entertain with songs and stories for children. This is a great event to get the kids involved in music, as well as being our second to last Summer Reading Program entertainer! Arrive early for the best seats.
Is curling up with a good book your idea of a great summer vacation? Are you feeling left out when you read about all the fantastic programs for kids happening here at the library this summer? Does the idea of winning prizes make you giddy?
Well, the Summer Reading Program is for adults, too! Every summer we are surprised at how many folks miss out on the chance to win some lovely prizes (including a Valiant Vineyards Winery gift certificate), when they are reading for pleasure, anyway.
Participating couldn’t be easier: Each time you finish a book, stop by the library and fill out an adult SRP entry form and leave it with the staff. You’re entered! We will draw for prizes at the end of July, and contact winners by email or phone. What are you waiting for?
Thanks to an exuberant and active Kick-off party, generously supported by the Friends of the Vermillion Public Library, Larry Brady, and Murph’s Appliance, we ushered in the 2016 summer season with nearly 200 attendees! To view some of the highlights, visit the library’s Youtube channel and look up the Edith B. Siegrist Vermillion Public Library.
The Friends of the Vermillion Public Library organization does so much to support the Summer Reading Program through their Edie’s Book Shop Sales. We’d like to send out an extra huge thank you to all of you who drop by these monthly sales to search for your fabulous book treasure. Every dollar you spent goes back into library programming! Additionally, June’s sale was matched by a generous grant from the Modern Woodmen of America – everyone who shopped on the June 3rd & 4th sale doubled their impact. THANK YOU Modern Woodmen!
You can still register for all summer reading programs via the ‘Summer Reading Program’ link on our website, www.vermillionpubliclibrary.org.

Capitalizing on the success of our introductory event, as well as the enthusiasm of participants, we will resume reveling in the perfect marriage of books and beer. This month, participants are encouraged to bring their favorite craft beers or wine to imbibe as we learn about tasty beer/food and wine/food pairings.
