All of our exciting children’s programs begin this week:
Register now for Summer Story Time sessions! There are no fee for these programs, but registration is required. Visit our website at vermillionpubliclibrary.org, and click on the Story Times link, or call us at 605-677-7060. Each session is open until full (12 per class). Sessions run September 11 – November 28th.

After School programming for 2017 begins September 11th, and runs through November 30th, 3:30 to 4:30 pm. All programs take place in the Kozak Community Room, with the exception of Minecraft, which takes place in the Youth Room. All programs are FREE and open to the public, require no registration, and are appropriate for school-aged children K-8th, with the exception of VEX IQ Robotics which is open to those aged 10 & up. Snacks are provided at all programs. Call our Circulation Desk for more information.

Prepare for the eclipse with open access to Gale’s In Context resources!
With the upcoming solar eclipse, Gale is providing free access to three earth science resources. They are opening up access to Science in Context, Research in Context and Student Resources in Context through Sept. 15 for those back to school projects that involve the eclipse, as well as the science enthusiasts looking for more information on the event.
Please note that all users will need to complete a short registration form to access these resources.
Vermillionaires: We are so sorry to report that we are all out of our free eclipse glasses! Amazingly, they went fast. If you are still on the hunt for glasses, there are some to be found online, but beware of fake glasses:
Join us as we discuss the initial chapters of Melody Warnick’s engaging book about loving where you live: This is Where You Belong. Bring your lunch or order in, and we’ll have drinks and sweets. This Thursday, August 17th will be the first session of a monthly book club meeting.
