Do you love browsing through cookbooks or trying new recipes and cooking techniques? This fall consider joining our most popular book club – Cook the Book!
Once a month, our tastiest adult program will introduce fellow foodies to new tastes, cooking techniques, and great books about cooking. This unique book group brings together patrons who love to cook for a shared meal and conversation about food and cooking.
To participate, choose a recipe to prepare and share for the first meeting. Each month there is a different theme, so check with library staff to see what the group will be discussing, and what kind of recipe to bring!
It will only be necessary to make one regular-sized recipe – no need to double! Subsequent meetings will be themed according to the group’s choices.
COUNTRY MUSIC: A Film By Ken Burns, explores the history of a uniquely American art form and how it evolved over the 20th century and emerged to become America’s music. It features never-before-seen footage and photographs, plus interviews with more than 80 country music artists. This eight-part 16-hour series is directed and produced by Ken Burns; written and produced by Dayton Duncan; and produced by Julie Dunfey.
The whole series will be available on your local PBS station, but you can watch a shortened, 45-minute screening of the film here at the library! Watch it while you eat your lunch.
Refreshments will be served, but guests are of course welcome to bring their own food.
