Upcoming Events:
Edie’s Book Shop is a monthly sale operated by the Friends of the Vermillion Public Library. Stop by for fantastic deals on gently used (and often new) books! There’s something for everyone here, and every cent goes back into supporting the operation of the library’s programming. In fact, the proceeds from Edie’s Book Shop sales play a major part in helping us run the Summer Reading Program.
This season the store will be open second Fridays and Saturdays of every month. September through December.

Children 4 and up, or 3 years old with an adult, hear a story and make art that relates to the story. The language of the Principles and Elements of Art are emphasized. Artists are introduced as a form of history. Children experiment with various media while making art! For many children this will be their first group experience without a parent. To make it a happy one, we ask your cooperation and assistance in preparing your child for going into Story Time without you. Reassure him/her that you will remain in the library. If separation is a special problem for you, feel free to stay or speak with the Youth Librarian about your concerns. Please keep coats and personal items with you rather than having the child bring things into the room. No toys, please. Greet your child promptly as Story Time ends.
Children from birth and up, accompanied by an adult, experience stories combined with music. Music videos are played allowing kids to learn about rhythm and beat; instruments are presented for experimenting with different sounds. Manipulative activities to follow! For many children this will be their first group experience. To make it a happy one, we ask your cooperation and assistance in preparing your child for going into Story Time. Parent or other adult supervision is required during these sessions, and caregiver participation is appreciated.
