Tug Collective arrives tomorrow, June 3rd, with their traveling project ‘Who Eats at Taco Bell?”. Gaelyn and Gustavo Aguilar, Co-Artistic Directors, will ceremoniously bike into town and make their way to the library, where they will set up their ‘Taco Encampment’.
During their stay, they will make tacos with people, prompt dialogue, exhibit interactive art, and invite innovative forms of engagement around the question: What is it going to take for us to truly live inter-culturally?
Join us, and the Tug Collective, for Tacos and conversation Saturday morning at the Vermillion Area Farmer’s Market, at the Platz, 9 – 12.
We will follow that up with a bike jaunt out to Spirit Mound, to visit this locally infamous spot along the Lewis & Clark Trail. We will depart from the Library at 2 pm. All are welcome!
Our Picture This series presents an Altered Book workshop this
Saturday, February 7th, 2-4 pm.
We all love to read and learn from books, but we can take our passion for books one step further— any book, old or new, can become an altered book! The transformation can involve any number of interventions—from adding materials to erasing and cutting out bits of the original. The degree of alteration can be minimal, or it can be a total obliteration of what was there.
We will investigate the work of several prominent book artists, and spend some time experimenting! Used books, a selection of basic cutting, gluing, and drawing tools will be provided.
. Please stop by our Circulation Desk, or call the library at 677-7060.
