Summer Meal Gap

For the next 3 weeks, the Vermillion Public Library will be the site of the Summer Meal Gap lunch program! Hosted by the Vermillion Food Pantry and the Welcome Table, these lunches are meant to bridge the gap between the end of the Free Summer Meal Program, and the beginning of the school year.
Lunch begins at 11:30, and will be served until 1 pm, or until food runs out. Any Vermillion-area children, and their families, are welcome to attend. Takes place in the Kozak Community Room.

Generously supported by the Dakota Hospital Foundation, Vermillion United Way, The Welcome Table Backpack Program, the Vermillion Food Pantry, and Feeding South Dakota.

It’s Not Too Late!

Wanna help yourself and your community at the same time?
In keeping with the season of giving, the Edith B. Siegrist Public Library is pleased to share its intention to offer amnesty to patrons owing fines throughout the month of December, in exchange for donations of food pantry items.
The “Forgiving for Giving” campaign will collect donations of non-perishable items that will then be distributed by the Vermillion Food Pantry during the holidays. Patrons who have accumulated overdue fees, with the exception of replacement fees, will be able to have those fines waived in exchange for donations of much-needed items, such as canned meats, canned or packaged soups, canned beans, dried pastas and grains, dried fruits, canned vegetables, etc. A more detailed list can be found by visiting vermillionfoodpantry.org/how-to-help/wish-list.

Even small gestures

Make a big difference. A lovely little thank you note arrived today from the Vermillion Food Pantry, which really belongs to all of you. Our lovely patrons. Each of your individual donations added up to a rather large delivery. As you can see from the card, there is a great need in our community for kindnesses such as this, and you responded incredibly generously.
