4-H Activity

It’s time for the last 4-H activity! This week we learn about the “Power of the Wind”. Learn how to make a pinwheel.

Materials needed:

  • Pencil with a good eraser on it
  • Scissors
  • Stick/straight pin
  • Templates (see below) printed on regular paper or card stock
  • String (maybe 12 inches)
  • Lightweight cup (dixie cup, small plastic/Styrofoam cup, etc.)
  • Pennies
  • Tape
  • Straw
  • Fan

More optional materials:

  • Index Card or cardboard
  • Paperclips
  • Rubber bands

New Quarantine Period for Returned Materials

A recent study that found the coronavirus is undetectable on books and other library materials after three days. With this new information, we’ve begun extending the quarantine period for all returned items to three days! This means your items will not be checked in until after 72 hours. Please note that we will not be charging overdue fines on returned items during the pandemic.

Music Storytime

Gather the kids and settle down for another round of Music Storytime from the National Music Museum! Since Dr. Debbie can’t host Music Storytime at the Edith B. Siegrist Vermillion Public Library right now, you can join her and her assistant Pierré, the coyote puppy, for a virtual musical tale.
